Breastfeeding in the United States: A National Agenda is the strategic plan of the United States Breastfeeding Committee. This strategic plan is also called the Strategic Plan for Protecting, Promoting, and Supporting Breastfeeding in the United States.
The US Breastfeeding Committee is composed of representatives from health professional associations and relevant government departments and non-governmental organizations.
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration is hopeful that this strategic plan will fully implement the recommendations from the 1984 Surgeon General's Workshop on Breastfeeding and Human Lactation.
